Symphonic Strings Ensemble

The Symphonic Strings Ensemble is a selected group for advanced players. The players should be able to play three octave scales up to 3 sharps and 3 flats. This course helps students develop small ensemble experiences and skills necessary for refined performance. Students in this group will be performing for special school events, participating community service and attending out of school activities. Placement in this group is based on playing auditions to be held in the fall.

Become a member:
All orchestra students are encouraged to be part of this group. To become a member, you need to prepare:

1. One page from a prepared solo piece (comparable to late Suzuki book 3 or above)
2. Three octave scales up to three sharps and three flats, major keys only.
3. Sight reading of prepared passage.

Rehearsal Schedule: Fridays: 2:07-2:42 (Advisory)
Due to the limited time for rehearsal, students’ participation and commitment to the group is extremely important. Three unexcused absences within a quarter will result in disqualifying from the group.
